Jerad Harness a Warsaw, Illinois native began his singing career in school singing with the schools chorus. After noticing he had a gift he was urged by his family and instructors to take it to the next level. After hooking up with Pro writer John McCollum and Joel Kipp doing session work at Musicians Pro Shop & School of Music Jerad then went to Nashville and recorded songs he and John McCollum had written. The session went well and Jerad continued to sing in local country groups The Martini Time Cowboys & Blackgrass.
Jerad has opened for Lady Antebellum, Diamond Rio, Jake Owen and many othersand has been performing around the Midwest the last couple of years playing fairs, festivals & clubs, building a solid following that follows him from show to show.
Jerads latest release “The Get Down” offers listeners a mix of modern (think Jason Aldean) and traditional (in the style of Hank Williams Jr. His recording session was led by legendary session leader and former Joe Diffie’s Piano player Walt Cunningham & is signed to Big Gandy Dancer Music. It is available on itunes, Amazon.com & Cdbaby.com.
In describing his new band and style of music he defines it as Blackgrass, he says is “like bluegrass, but way better.” The group consists of Harness on vocals, guitar and occasionally harmonica, Jordan Egler of Macomb, Ill., on guitar; Nathan Gosnell of rural Montrose on bass guitar; Chris Buchanan on pedal Steel; Joe Gallagher of Macomb on drums. This high energy group brings the show each and every time they perform and are in constant demand.
